About HelioAPI

Making solar environmental impact transparent, measurable, and meaningful for every solar system worldwide

Our Mission

Every solar panel installed makes a difference. Whether it's a residential, commercial or industrial system, each kilowatt-hour(kWh) generated reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and cuts carbon emissions.

But here's the challenge: how much of a difference does it actually make?

The answer depends entirely on where you are. A solar system in Poland offsets far more CO2 than the same panel in Norway. Context matters and that's where HelioAPI comes in.

"We believe every solar user from homeowners to manufacturers deserve to know their precise environmental impact based on their location's unique energy grid. HelioAPI makes that possible."

HelioAPI provides inverter manufacturers, installers, and developers with accurate, region specific emission factors and impact calculations. We turn raw energy data into meaningful impact equivalents that customers understand such as trees planted, miles avoided and homes powered.

Contributing to Global Sustainability Goals

Solar energy and HelioAPI directly support the UN Sustainable Development Goals

SDG 7
Affordable & Clean Energy

Every solar installation tracked through HelioAPI contributes to the global transition to renewable energy. By quantifying this impact, we make clean energy progress transparent and measurable.

🌍
SDG 13
Climate Action

HelioAPI provides the data infrastructure for countries and organizations to accurately track their renewable energy contributions to national emissions reduction targets and climate commitments.

♻️
SDG 12
Responsible Consumption

By making environmental impact visible and understandable, HelioAPI empowers consumers to make informed decisions about their energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Every Solar Installation Contributes to National Emissions Reduction

No matter how small, every solar panel makes a measurable difference to a country's carbon footprint. HelioAPI helps quantify this contribution in real, verifiable terms.

Residential

Homeowners see exactly how their rooftop system reduces their country's grid emissions

Commercial

Businesses track their solar contribution to corporate sustainability and national climate goals

Utility-Scale

Large solar farms quantify their impact on regional grid decarbonization efforts

"When a homeowner in Poland installs 5kW of solar, they offset 0.63 kg of CO2 per kWh produced, more than triple the impact of the same system in France (0.05 kg). Context matters. Accurate data matters. HelioAPI provides both."

Our Data Methodology

Transparency and accuracy are at the core of everything we do

📥

Official Sources Only

All emission factors come from government agencies, regulatory bodies, and international organizations:

  • USA: EPA eGRID (Environmental Protection Agency)
  • Canada: ECCC National Inventory Report
  • Europe: Ember, Our World In Data (OWID)
  • Australasia/Pacific Islands: Ember, Our World In Data (OWID), Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW)
  • Asia/Africa: Ember, Our World In Data (OWID)

Data Verification

All emission factors are sourced from trusted, authoritative databases to maintain data quality and consistency. Primary data comes from Ember/Our World in Data (OWID), with additional country specific factors obtained directly from national government sources such as Australia (DCCEEW), the United States (EPA eGRID), and Canada (ECCC NIR).

🔄

Regular Updates

Emission factors are updated annually as new government data is released. Our database tracks the source year for each factor, ensuring you always know how current your calculations are.

📖

Complete Transparency

Every API response includes the source, year, and emission factor used in calculations. You can trace every number back to its authoritative origin.
